Orange

This is a simple sketch of an orange from an inside and side view. I really wanted to get all the fine details across in this sketch but I had trouble doing so. In drawing this sketch, it helped me focus on the details of an item and also made me realize I need to practice getting the details to show through in future sketches.

Crosshatching Fruit

This sketch is of a few pieces of fruit drawn using a crosshatch technique. I think it's more creative to draw this way as the crosshatching gives you more options for shading etc. I liked using this technique, it was a change from just drawing a straight line. I've even started using crosshatch whilst doodling, just so I can try enhance my skills.

My Dorm Room

This is a sketch I drew of my dorm room layout. There is a bit too much white space for my liking but the overall layout is spot on. This was good practice for me in drawing my surroundings to the right proportion and elevation.

My Keys

I think I can honestly say this was my first time sketching keys. Although you can obviously tell what they are, the proportions and detailing aren't quite correct so further practice on such things would be helpful to myself. I decided to practice writing my name using a ruler to write the letters, further practice of that would be helpful too!

British Textile

When designing this textile I used my British Heritage as my inspiration for it. I chose a few images of typical British icons, the Queen being one. The Union Jack worked as a good repeating background and I placed the teacups and pink Queen in the center to add a bold, '80s punk feel to the textile.

Geometric Pattern

The images I chose to create this pattern were all of poppy flowers. I decided to choose images with a pastel tone. The whole point of this was to make the images unrecognizable from the original which I felt I achieved. As this was my first attempt at using Photoshop, only basic tools were used to distort the image. Had I made myself more familiar with Photoshop, then I feel overall pattern could have been more creative.
